When she was younger I would tell my daughter at bedtime, "Sleep well, tomorrow is going to be a very big day!" She would laugh and ask what was so special about the next day. I would tell her, "I don't know yet but something amazing is going to happen!"
Imagine how powerful it would be if just before going to sleep, we could convince ourselves that tomorrow is going to be a really big day. Imagine how our day would go if we woke up in the morning and said, "It's here! Today is going to be a really big day!"
We that thought in mind I think we would all be more open to new experiences and challenges. We would value conversations more. We would be at our best because we would never know which interaction was the one that would make it a very big day.
Our thoughts create our emotions and our emotions determine our actions. If we are expecting great things to happen, we will be more likely to feel excited about our day. When we feel excited about something, we approach it much differently. We act differently. When we act more positively, we get more positive results. So just by expecting to have a big day, we can create a big day. The world around us responds to the world within us.
So tonight when you go to bed, tell yourself that tomorrow will be a very big day. And when you wake up in the morning, tell yourself, "Today will be a very big day." If you can do that, you'll be amazed at how many big days you have.
